There is a chill in the mornings here now and we have lit the fire for the first time this year already, winter is on its way!

Winter packages
• Come and stay with us on the Dinner, bed and breakfast package between the months of April – August (inclusive) for two consecutive nights and pay only $200p/n for two in our studio chalet. Or if you can only escape for one night the usual Dinner, bed and breakfast package for one night is still running and is $230p/n for two in our studio chalet. Come relax with us after a day of skiing.

Winter Menu and Things
• Sean is currently working on the winter menu, it is going to include the ‘favourites’ from previous menus, watch this space for more details.

• We are still putting together gourmet picnic lunches for guests to take with them on day trips and the feedback has been very complimentary.

Gift Vouchers
• Gift vouchers are available all year round, any denomination can be purchased or DBB packages, great gifts for weddings, ‘thank you’s’ or just any occasion.

Website
• Our website has been upgraded, we are really happy with the result, we hope you find it user friendly. The next step is getting the online booking system up and running. www.stronechrubie.co.nz

Local Updates
• The High Country fishing season has just about finished now, by all accounts it has been a good season, Sean even managed to catch a good size trout!

• Minerals to Art bi annual festival was postponed this year until March 2011 due to lack of funding, we will look forward to a bigger and better festival next year.

• The Mt Somers Village green (opposite the Mt Somers store) has had its landscaping completed, many local people and businesses have worked really hard to complete this major upgrade and it looks amazing. It has been designed to replicate the area, lime stone, tussocks etc. at a later stage there is going to be an electronic talking information stand put up so people can learn more about this area. Next time you are in the area stop, have and ice cream (or coffee!) and have a look.

• Sean recently put on a cooking demonstration at the Methven Farmers market, he showed the crowd how to cook his delicious ‘Braised Pork belly’, he then handed around the finished product for the gathering crowd to try and also handed out recipes. It was a very well received event at the local market.

• By the next email newsletter we will have a third addition to the family, all going to plan! We have another baby due at the end of June.

Give us a call any time on (03) 303 9814 or email schrubie@xtra.co.nz.
We’d love to hear from you.
